Frequently Asked Questions

MY UNIT WON'T TURN ON:

    1. Confirm the model number (e.g., 280C, ARC, 1900S).
    2. Check if the charger is correct for the model. Refer to output specs (e.g., 280C = 5V 1A, 1900S = 10V 1.5A).
    3. If lights turn red then green within seconds, it’s likely the wrong charger.
    4. Remove the splitter cable and test charging directly. If this fixes it, the splitter needs replacing.
    5. Try a different power outlet.
    6. If no lights appear, check if the charging port is loose or damaged.
    7. If the device shuts off while in use, shake it gently to test for loose parts, or ensure there are no magnetic items (like FI collars) interfering.
  1. MY COLLAR OR REMOTE ISN'T DELIVERING STIMULATIONS:

    1. Confirm both units are powered on and blinking green every 4–5 seconds.
    2. Make sure the customer is not testing on the dog—dogs may ignore stim due to adrenaline or coat thickness.
    3. Suggest testing on the inside of the wrist at level 15–20 using the constant button.
    4. If no response:
    5. If the collar blinks green but doesn’t respond to commands, there may be an RF pairing issue.

  2.  MY UNIT HAS RANGE ISSUES:

    1. Set the collar on a table and use the page/vibrate function.
    2. Ask the customer to walk away slowly while activating the pager to test signal range.
    3. Ensure the collar is tight, high on the neck, and powered on.
    4. If the collar doesn’t respond, try re-coding the system.

  3. MY BARK COLLAR CORRECTS WHEN MY DOG ISN'T BARKING:
    1. Multi-dog environments may trigger false corrections due to surrounding noise.
    2. Ensure the collar is tight enough and stimulation level is appropriate.
    3. Use test mode (T on the dial) and tap the sensor between contact points with a pen cap to confirm it's working.

  4.  THE BATTERY ISN'T HOLDING A CHARGE:
    1. Batteries last 1–3 years; overcharging or long shelf time can degrade lifespan.
    2. Avoid charging more than 2 hours at a time.
    3. Cold weather can reduce battery performance—keep the unit warm during use.
    4. If lights don't appear with the correct charger and no splitter, the battery may need service.

  5. HANDSFREE SETUP (FOR 1900S AND ARC HANDSFREE B&L):
    1. Power off the remote.
    2. Hold the desired function + power button until the remote blinks rapidly.
    3. Press and hold the hands-free square until both lights turn solid.
    4. Test the button function.
